Mt. Gravatt Veterinary Clinic, historically, is one of the oldest veterinary establishments in Brisbane. In 1991 Dr Alan Bird bought land and built the current clinic at the corner of Ham and Broadwater Roads.

Dr Alan retired in 2017 and the clinic is now owned by Dr Shibly Mustapha who graduated from University of Queensland in 2003. Dr Shibly has years of experience in companion animal and emergency medicine. He has worked in South Africa, UK and various parts of Australia.

Our staff strive to provide amazing care for our clients and their pets. We are all passionate about our job and have lots of love for animals both at work, and in our home lives. When you pop in for a visit, these are some of the friendly faces you will see.

Meet Our Team
Dr Belinda Stancombe

Dr. Belinda grew up in Brisbane’s bayside, where for as long as she could remember she had wanted to be a vet. She went on to graduate from the University of Queensland with honors and has worked in small animal clinics on Brisbane’s southside for the last 10 years.

Dr. Belinda enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but is especially passionate about animal behavior. She enjoys getting to know all her clients and the unique needs of their pets. She has an interest in animal welfare and is involved in the rehabilitation and rehoming of rescue kittens.

Dr. Belinda is a local, living in close proximity to the Mt Gravatt clinic and volunteering at the nearby schools her 3 children attend.  She loves the strong sense of the local community and contributes through her work in the area.

Dr. Belinda’s menagerie consists of a Hungarian Vizsla names Louie, two cat brothers named Fatty and Houdini (hand-reared from 7 days of age) and 5 laying chickens.

Dr. Belinda has been featured on Courier Mail and Love your Pets Magazine for her passion for Veterinary Medicine and Rescue Cats!

Dr Rebecca Barnier
  • BVSc (Hons)

Rebecca is our super star veterinarian. She grew up in South West Brisbane, and also studied locally graduating from the University of Queensland with honours in Veterinary Science. She has mostly worked around the Brisbane area, including some time spent as a contracting vet (which is how she came here!) She also spends time volunteering at the RSPCA.

Rebecca has particular passions in preventative treatments, ultrasonography and internal medicine (specifically cardiology and endocrinology). She is constantly attending courses to further her continuing education, so that she can provide your pet with the most up to date medicine. Rebecca will always treat your pet like one of her own, as she considers them to be a part of the family. She also loves to get to know you, the owners. This photo shows her Ragdoll x rescue cat Sophie, but she also has a giant black German Shepherd x Border Collie called Hendrix. There's never such a thing as 'too spoilt' when it comes to pets for Rebecca, because what they give back in return is beyond measure.
