Meet Our Team

Our staff strive to provide amazing care for our clients and their pets. We are all passionate about our job and have lots of love for animals both at work, and in our home lives. When you pop in for a visit, these are some of the friendly faces you will see.

Dr Rebecca Barnier - Veterinarian

  • BVSc (Hons)
Mt Gravatt Vet Clinic - Veterinarian - Dr Rebecca Barnier

Rebecca is our super star veterinarian. She grew up in South West Brisbane, and also studied locally graduating from the University of Queensland with honours in Veterinary Science. She has mostly worked around the Brisbane area, including some time spent as a contracting vet (which is how she came here!) She also spends time volunteering at the RSPCA.

Rebecca has particular passions in preventative treatments, ultrasonography and internal medicine (specifically cardiology and endocrinology). She is constantly attending courses to further her continuing education, so that she can provide your pet with the most up to date medicine. Rebecca will always treat your pet like one of her own, as she considers them to be a part of the family. She also loves to get to know you, the owners. This photo shows her Ragdoll x rescue cat Sophie, but she also has a giant black German Shepherd x Border Collie called Hendrix. There's never such a thing as 'too spoilt' when it comes to pets for Rebecca, because what they give back in return is beyond measure.

Dr Tom Robbins - Veterinarian

Mt Gravatt Vet Clinic - Veterinarian - Dr Tom Robbins

Tom joined the Mount Gravatt Vet Clinic family in October 2017. He has extensive experience in small animal general practice and joins us after returning home from living and working as a small animal veterinarian in London. Tom graduated from the University of Queensland with honours in 2013. His passion for veterinary science was born from his childhood in Central Queensland.

Working with animals and getting to know the stories of his patients and their owners makes Tom very happy indeed! Tom lives in Brisbane with his family and is a die hard Queensland Reds supporter.

Sheelagh Lowry - Practice Manager

Mt Gravatt Vet Clinic - Practice Manager/ Veterinary Nurse - Sheelagh Lowry

Sheelagh is the clinic practice manager but also lends a hand as a vet nurse time to time. She loves working as a vet nurse and being able to have a chat with clients and have a cuddle or pat with the pets before an appointment.

Sheelagh is very passionate about preventative vet care and guiding patients on the correct preventive path for a long and healthy future for their pets. Sheelagh has been working at Mt Gravatt Veterinary Clinic since 2003 and formed close bonds with many of the clients, for Sheelagh they are like close friends. She has seen many of our families' children grow up and love it when they start to bring in their fur family.

In her spare time Sheelagh enjoys camping and relaxing by the fire and having a complete break from technology. She also loves gardening, growing vegetables, herbs and salads.

She has been an integral part of the Mt Gravatt Vet clinic for over 5 years.  She brings an extensive knowledge base and has a special interest in surgical and medical nursing.

Lauren has 2 fur babies and one human. On the weekends she loves to take her dog to the beach, fishing on the boat and sometimes takes her human baby as well.

Emma Sciberras - Veterinary Nurse

Mt Gravatt Vet Clinic - Veterinary Nurse - Emma Sciberras

Emma started at the clinic as a Veterinary Nurse student in 2016. She has now fully completed her studies and is a fully qualified Vet Nurse. She excelled in her studies and her vet nurse skills that we just had to keep her!

Emma has completed further education in dentistry and is able to teach you everything you need to know about how to keep your pets smiling with pearly whites and fresh breath! She is the resident crazy cat lady of Mt Gravatt Vet Clinic and has two delightful cats of her own, Moo Moo and Brooklyn. Her favourite part of the job is the complexity of anaesthesia and continually learning and seeing new things, as well as being in the company of animals all day.
